Astrology of Saturn in Aries 2025 - 2028
Saturn, the taskmaster and disciplinarian of the planets, is about to move into fiery Aries, starting a whole new Saturn cycle. Saturn spends about 2 ½ years in each sign, and uses that time to force you to learn lessons, to utilize the energy responsibly, and to do things the right way and for the right reasons. Otherwise, we get that notorious Saturn punishment!

General Impact of Saturn in Aries:
Saturn is the teacher in astrology. In your natal chart, Saturn shows major lessons you need to learn in your life, and where you can struggle with lack until you learn them. Lack is a theme with Saturn since its base energy is restriction.
With transit (moving) Saturn, this restriction can be felt across the world, for all of us, though the degree to which we all feel it individually depends on how much we’ve already learned the lesson, whether Saturn is making challenging aspects to our natal chart, or if we’re experiencing other hard transits.
In general, Saturn in Aries focuses on what Aries rules: new beginnings, energy, leadership. We may struggle with the start of new ventures, though we feel it’s even more important that we embark on them. There can be major lessons to learn when it comes to getting started responsibly, in disciplined ways, and controlling our actions.
Energy might be in limited supply, and we have to focus on using the energy we have at our disposal wisely. The more responsible we are with our energy, the smarter we are about it, the more energy we can find becomes available to us, and we have what we need when we need it.
There can be lessons with this, and we have to learn how to work with our energy, enthusiasm, and excitement properly. Some patience is required, because if we jump into things without thinking it through, impulse gets the better of us, and we end up in a worse position than where we started.
Leading is also an important thing to focus on, and we can work on trying to find our leadership styles, and the best ways for us to lead the way and embrace our inner pioneers. If we shirk away from leading, we may lose the ability to go our own way and become followers for a while. This means we lose our autonomy and individuality, and we have to learn the lessons that made that possible so we can get ourselves back.
Aries rules our identity, our sense of self, so Saturn in Aries may come with lessons around that. If we don’t know who we are, if we lack confidence in the face we show the world, if we’re not secure with our identity, Saturn in Aries can make these issues front-and-center. We have to work through the blocks, baggage, and traumas to develop a true self of self.
All of this may focus on the areas of life ruled by the house(s) in your natal chart where Saturn in Aries will tour. Those areas can be ones where you need to learn how to take the lead, utilize energy, get started, and be true to yourself.
Saturn in Aries + Neptune & Chiron:
Saturn isn’t the only planet in Aries! Neptune is also on the move to Aries, first entering just about 2 months before Saturn (March 30th). The two tour Aries close together in 2025 (when Saturn is in Aries) and in 2026 (mid-February through March). They will conjunct (align) on February 20th 2026.
Neptune and Saturn have been touring together for a little while, since Saturn entered Pisces a few years ago, so they’ve been doing the tango which leads into the conjunction. They are different types of energy as Saturn is reality and Neptune is fantasy.
We have to juggle the two and make sure we’re using them both properly. There might be a tendency to try and squash Neptune by being overly realistic and disciplined and practical (too Saturn), but we lose out on intuitive insights and creativity and connection by doing that.
We need to embrace intuition, but use it in practical, productive, and responsible ways. We need to be disciplined with our creativity, and let inspiration flow while gathering it to be put to good use. They don’t have to fight each other if we’re extra mindful of their energy.
The conjunction may trigger something major in the world, so keep an eye out on that! Especially since this occurs at 0 degrees Aries, which is the 0 degrees Aries Point. There are 30 degrees in every Zodiac sign, 360 degrees total, and 0 degrees Aries is the very first degree and called the Aries Point.
This point is one full of energy for new beginnings, and we feel suuuper motivated to take the internal and intangible and make it external and tangible. In a way, this works perfectly for Saturn-Neptune as it’s merging their energy.
We’re also at the start of a brand new cosmic paradigm, a huge astrological shift, with Pluto now in Aquarius, and Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune all on the move to new signs as well. That Saturn-Neptune conjunction might be a major spark to catapult us into something brand-spanking new that puts us on a new path for many years (possibly decades, or even centuries!) to come.
Then there’s Chiron, who is in Aries already when Saturn enters Aries. Chiron has been in Aries for years now, so it’s at the end of this sign and they won’t conjunct (yep, Chiron is on the move too!).
Chiron is called the “wounded healer” and rules our greatest wounds, as well as our healing abilities. It’s highly intuitive and spiritual, and a place of quiet power. Saturn paired with Chiron might be helping with those things we need to heal from in order to utilize our energy, take the lead, embark on new ventures, and forge a strong identity.
Saturn Returns for Saturn in Aries:
A return occurs when a transit body returns to the exact position it was at when you were born, and tends to be a big deal for whatever that body rules. Saturn Returns roughly every 28 - 32 years, and the first return is often dicey!
This is considered the entrance into adulthood astrologically (since it’s your late 20’s - early 30’s), so it usually comes with some major growing pains. The lessons you haven’t yet learned with your natal Saturn come roaring out, and you’re often forced to face them and learn them, otherwise more problems follow.
For Saturn in Aries, you have to learn lessons around your identity (being secure in who you are and true to yourself), around leading (figuring out how you can best lead down a new road), and around your energy (making sure to put it to good use while not being impulsive).
Most of you born April 1996 to March 1999 will experience your first Saturn Return in Aries. Good luck! (my first Saturn Return forced me to face my greatest fear, but then my Saturn is in Scorpio, ruler of fear - may you have less frights!)
Second and third Saturn Returns are supposed to be easier - but only if you actually learned your Saturn lessons, that’s the rub! If you didn’t, then it can actually be HARDER than the first (actually I find that if you didn’t learn your lessons the first time, you likely won’t even live to a third time as the second demolishes you; yeah it’s that harsh).
Most of you born March 1967 to April 1969 will experience your second Saturn Return (and most of you born April 1937 to December 1939 will experience your third).
Do yourself a favor and make sure you’ve learned your lessons before the second return comes! I can’t guarantee you’ll make it out if you don’t!
If you have learned your lessons, then your second (and potential third) will be times where you’re even more secure in yourself. Your life can get more stable, you can be more grounded, and you can ease into the next phase of your life effortlessly.
Saturn in Aries for the Zodiac Signs:
For Aries, Saturn is moving to your sign, so this can be an important transit for you! You may feel like you’re pushing yourself in whole new ways, and this can be the beginning of a new life cycle. Focus on how you can be true to yourself, take the initiative in healthy ways, and utilize your energy to the best of your abilities.
For Taurus, Saturn in Aries puts Saturn in a quiet sector for you, and you may want to focus on getting more time to yourself over the next few years to be introspective and reflective. This can be an important period for letting go, releasing, understanding, and getting insights into the past so you can free yourself from baggage.
For Gemini, Saturn in Aries brings Saturn to your dreams and future sector, and this can bring a dose of reality to what you hope for. You might feel it’s too unrealistic and you should give up, but you should actually try to take a practical, disciplined, realistic approach to what you dream of. With smart work, it can happen.
For Cancer, Saturn in Aries can be an amazing time for reaching new heights, hitting your stride, and achieving something truly amazing. This can occur early in the transit, so pay attention and do things right! If you’ve worked at your goals the right way and for the right reasons, you can get the recognition now.
For Leo, Saturn in Aries can bring Saturn out of what has been a heavy sector for you and lighten the load a little. You can give more attention to your beliefs, and can work to expand your life in new ways that are practical and responsible. This can be a good time for a course of study that becomes a career.
For Virgo, Saturn in Aries can signal a period of seriousness and intensity that pushes you to face what you’ve been running from. You may need to dig deeper into yourself or your past, and this can be scary, but ultimately leads to solutions and empowerment. A transformation may be required of you, and this can be a good thing.
For Libra, Saturn in Aries brings Saturn to your relationship sector, and you can take your relationships even more seriously than usual. You can put distance between you and those you don’t have a healthy connection with any longer, and can become more committed to those you do. This transit can expose the state of your connections, one way or the other.
For Scorpio, Saturn in Aries brings Saturn to your work sector, and you can focus on doing the work that you enjoy doing each day, that you find fulfilling, or that gives you purpose. Without that, you may hate your work and want to pull away. If you can be committed and disciplined, there can be rewards for your work ethic and talents.
For Sagittarius, Saturn in Aries brings Saturn to your love sector, and you can take love more seriously. You may commit to someone, strengthen existing commitment, and can shy away from anything casual. For Capricorn, Saturn in Aries brings Saturn to your home and family sector, and this can mean you have more responsibilities at home or with family, or you streamline your home in some way. You may also tend to your emotional needs, and work on strengthening your core. This can be a period where you work on starting something from the bottom up.
For Aquarius, Saturn in Aries helps you to commit to your ideas and see your plans through. You can become more serious about your opinions, and can gather information quietly on your own. You may not be as vocal, but can be informed when you do speak up. You can get involved in your local community as well.
For Pisces, Saturn moves out of your sign and gives you some breathing room after our sign for the last couple of years. Paired with Neptune, this has likely been more draining and required more of you than Saturn usually does. With Saturn in Aries, this prompts you to create more stability and security in your life, and you can benefit from grounding and centering yourself.
