Take Advantage of Opportunities for Transformation With Pluto

Pluto is the planet of transformation in astrology. This means if you want to transform your life for the better (who doesn’t?), then Pluto is the one to look to, and often is the catalyst for this kind of change.

Uranus rules change, and Saturn wants us to learn lessons, but Pluto is almost a hybrid of the two. Pluto demands that we change, but not in a superficial way. Pluto wants change that will last for years, decades, the rest of our lives, and that comes from the roots and branches out into our lives. Pluto wants us to build something solid and strong, and that has no hint of superficiality, and that aligns with who we truly are.

Transforming with Pluto in the Natal Chart:

In your natal chart, your natal Pluto can show how and where you have to transform at some point in your life, or many times throughout your life. The sign of your natal Pluto can show how, while the house your natal Pluto resides can show where.

Most people alive now have Pluto in Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, or Capricorn. In Cancer, you transform emotionally; in Leo, you transform creatively; in Virgo, you transform the details; in Libra, you transform diplomatically or with a partner; in Scorpio, you transform in deep, profound ways and with the really hard stuff (since Pluto naturally rules Scorpio); in Sagittarius, you transform the big idea and big picture; in Capricorn, you transform in disciplined ways.

If you have any natal planets or bodies conjunct (aligned with) your natal Pluto, this can show an area in your life where you can experience massive transformation, and likely absolutely have to, whether you want to or not. This can be brutally painful if you fight it, so it’s best to take control of the change and do things right.

Current Transformations with Transit Pluto:

Transit, or moving, Pluto can bring opportunities for transformation right now. Your natal Pluto can be used at any time, and can show transformations throughout your life, but transit Pluto is for the right-here, right-now.

Transit Pluto aspects last a while (3 years), so it’s big when Pluto makes an aspect to any of your natal bodies. Under beneficial aspects (sextiles and trines), this tends to help empower you, and you can take control of something.

The hard aspects (conjunction, square, opposition) are a different story, and they will tear to shreds anything related to the natal body being aspected that isn’t built solid, strong, secure, and aligned with your true self.

This is to force you to start over and change things for the better, but it can be a huge challenge when you’re going through it. That’s why it’s best to know when this is coming so you can make sure things have been built correctly, because if they are, Pluto won’t destroy it (even under the hard aspects). Instead, Pluto will make you even stronger.

You’ll still become extra strong if Pluto tears things down, it’s just going to take longer to build back up, and you may have some war wounds to deal with later. If you end up fighting it though, and refuse to go along with Pluto, then you may not get the chance to make it right later, and get stuck in this endless void of chaos.

Help yourself! Focus on what needs to be done, and do it in the right way. It might be hard, but it can lead to you becoming a formidable force.

Recap:

  • your natal Pluto can show how and where you transform throughout your life in one big way or many times

  • transit Pluto can bring transformations into your life in the moment in easy or challenging ways depending on the aspect involved and directed toward whatever areas of life are ruled by the natal planet being aspected
