5 Ways to Work With the 2025 Saturn in Aries Transit
Powerhouse Saturn, the stoic teacher and disciplinarian in astrology, is on the move to Aries, and tours this fire sign May 24th - September 1st 2025 (before officially entering in February 2026).
We get almost 3 ½ months of Saturn in Aries for 2025, so it’s a somewhat brief stay, but it does come with Neptune also freshly in Aries, and Uranus on the move to Gemini (July 7th). So much changing cosmic energy right now!
Saturn punishes us when we don’t do things the right way and for the right reasons. This is Saturn’s demand for us all, and if we refuse to learn our lessons and get on the straight-and-narrow, Saturn has no problem shoving us right off that cliff (and NOT in Thelma and Louise glory).
So, what would be some smart strategies for using Saturn in Aries this year? Let’s review 5 of them you should get started on stat:
01: Be confident and secure in your identity.
For most people, the main impact for Saturn in Aries will be to your sense of self and connection to your identity. Aries rules our outward face, so Saturn in Aries demands that we have a solid and secure connection to who we are, and that we present this to the world with confidence.
If you lack that confidence, or have no clue who you are, this can be an extremely challenging few years for you (not gonna lie!). So, you absolutely need to work on this immediately, otherwise you may not stand a chance of knowing yourself anytime soon.
Ask yourself why you lack confidence in who you are. Where did this come from? Analyze the origin and try to get some understanding. Try to reframe and get some perspective about it. Do you need to let go of old thought patterns? Relationships or people? You can achieve confidence, but it will likely take time, and some hard decisions.
If your problem is that you have no idea who you are, well if you’re still young, that’s normal, so give yourself some grace as you go through the growing pains. But if you’re now older, then you need to drill down on what has caused you to avoid developing a solid sense of self. What is the block, where did it come from, and why do you continue to hold on to it? What are you afraid of? You can learn who you are, but you need to have some courage to take a chance on yourself.
02: Practice taking the lead.
Aries is a cardinal sign (along with Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn), and they are the leaders of the Zodiac, but this is extra true for Aries since it’s the first Zodiac sign, so it’s the pioneer. Aries is the sign that boldly (gleefully!) goes where no one else has gone before.
So, with Saturn in Aries, it’s time to evaluate your leadership abilities and skills. How comfortable are you taking the lead? Do keep in mind that this doesn’t necessarily have to mean leading a massive group of people, and it could instead just be leading one or two - or even just yourself! Aries is NOT a follower when it’s operating well, so we all have to make sure we’re comfortable following our own lead.
When was the last time you blazed a new trail? This might be the time to try. Do some homework first, gather information and research, make some plans - all that stuff that satisfies Saturn. But then be willing to take the first step. Every journey starts with one step, right?
03: Channel energy productively.
Aries is ruled by Mars, the planet of energy. This means Saturn in Aries wants us to make sure we’re using our energy properly and productively. We shouldn’t be taking action just for the sake of taking action, and need to make sure we’re being smart about it.
If we don’t use our energy properly, Saturn might zap it (since Saturn’s base energy is to restrict). If you’re feeling your energy is getting lower and lower, this might be Saturn telling you that you’re not using it correctly.
Are you squandering your energy? Are you being impulsive? Are you following others? All of this will likely annoy Saturn in Aries, so try to be strategic with the energy you have, even if it’s just a teeny tiny bit. The more you use it properly, the more energy can become available to you.
04: Tackle old anger issues.
Aries does rule anger, and we can become easily irritated, frustrated, and annoyed under Aries energy. Saturn in Aries means we have to work on underlying issues, because what we think we’re mad about may not actually be the thing we’re mad about!
Focus on getting underneath that anger. If you know you have old anger issues, old baggage from the past that has always triggered you, this can be where you focus on first. Try to unpack that anger. Work to understand it as best as you can (this might mean utilizing some sort of therapy).
But it’s not just about getting to the heart of anger, it’s also about using anger constructively and having healthy outlets for anger. We all will get angry sometimes, and that’s okay as long as we don’t let it fester, grow, shove it away, eat away at us, lash out, or take it out on others. That’s when anger becomes really, really bad. Work on having those healthy outlets.
05: Make plans for new beginnings.
Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac, and this means it connects with new beginnings. This is extra true for this go around thanks to all of the other major planets changing signs too - we’re ALL at the precipice of something brand spanking new!
Many are scared of new beginnings, but this is NOT the time to let fear control you. Embrace this energy and take control of it for your benefit.
Focus on what you want to start anew with. This could be a career prospect, in a relationship or with friendships, with learning or education, at home or with family, truly anything! What brand new thing does your heart desire most?
Set the goal and start the first steps. Remember to take your own lead! This can be something that changes the rest of your life, so get excited about that.
