Capricorn Full Moon 2025: Make Plans

A Capricorn Full Moon occurs on July 10th 2025 (4:36PM ET/1:36PM PT). This means the transit (moving) Sun and Moon are opposite each other, fueling emotion and triggering important culminations. This can be long in the making with Capricorn.

What’s the energy of Capricorn astrologically?

Capricorn is a focused sign ruling goals, ambitions, and direction. It’s ruled by Saturn, the taskmaster and disciplinarian who expects nothing but professionalism, ethics, and legality. This makes Capricorn more disciplined, mature, and responsible than more signs.

Capricorn is an earth sign (along with Taurus and Virgo), and these signs are grounded, stable, and hard-working. They each connect with our professional lives, which is fitting.

Taurus is the most grounded of them all, and takes a slow, steady approach to everything. Virgo is a bit faster since it’s also a mutable sign, but dedicates itself to the details, tasks, and small projects. And Capricorn is the one with big goals and high aspirations.

Since Capricorn is a cardinal sign, it’s willing to take action and take the lead, unlike Taurus and Virgo. In fact, Capricorn is one of the leaders of the Zodiac (along with Aries), and governs bosses, governments, and those in charge.

Capricorn tends to be self-assured, and it can confidently believe in its abilities to accomplish whatever it sets out to do. It stays focused, and it keeps on path.

On the downside, Capricorn can be tragically ambitious, and put its goals ahead of everything else. This leads to emotional distance with others, and Capricorn can have a difficult time opening up and expressing and sharing emotion as a result.

Capricorn could stand to learn some more emotion, how to let itself feel and express those feelings, and get more personal. When it finds that, it develops the solid foundation it needs to build incredible feats.

How does a Capricorn Full Moon impact us?

Full Moons are times of culminations, where we “reap what we’ve sown”. This is the most true when it’s a Capricorn Full Moon since Capricorn is the highest sign of the Zodiac. It’s where we end up after we put in the hard and smart work for a long period of time, and see the payoffs and rewards for doing things the right way and for the right reasons.

This is something we can see play out with Capricorn Full Moons, and we can see others and ourselves hit new heights, hit our stride, and make great progress with our goals. We can feel far more ambitious as a result, and want to keep going to accomplish even more as we’re more confident in our abilities.

But with Capricorn being the height of the Zodiac, this can also mean some experience a long fall down. This occurs with Capricorn when you don’t do things the right way or for the right reasons, and then punishment kicks in to teach you a lesson that you probably should’ve learned a long time ago to avoid this mess.

It is an opportunity to course correct and get back on the right path. It doesn’t have to be a permanent failure if you learn from it and make the proper adjustments going forward. Assess and understand so you can plot a new path forward.

The Tech Specs of the 2025 Capricorn Full Moon:

Like with the previous Sagittarius Full Moon, the Capricorn Full Moon makes no major aspects to the transit planets. BUT it does come to us sandwiched in between retrogrades!

Neptune turns retrograde (appears to move backward) in Aries starting July 4th 2026, and this is the time where we have to navigate through foggy energy. We have to rely more on our intuition to guide us in the right direction so we don’t end up completely lost. This is 6 days before the Full Moon, which might try to thicken that fog, especially emotionally, so we need to be clear.

Then Saturn turns retrograde on July 13th, 3 days after the Full Moon. Saturn is the natural ruler of Capricorn, so we can feel that some things are just really off at times with this Full Moon. What we had been thinking just a few weeks prior might not hold, and we’re looking in the opposite direction now as the ground is shifting beneath our feet.

If we can remain composed, responsible, and ground ourselves, we can get through. But I definitely anticipate we’ll see some governments and politicians behaving badly!

And then, Mercury retrograde starts July 18th, 8 days after this Full Moon! Things are really going to be flipping in a totally new direction, so we have to be adaptable and not get stuck. Try to have plans ready for multiple different scenarios so you’re not one of the thrown off.

And not only that, but changemaker Uranus enters a new sign, Gemini, on July 7th, 3 days before this Full Moon. Uranus is breaking open our minds and giving all new attitudes and outlooks, information and advice. A lot of changes are happening in July!

The Capricorn Full Moon demands that we handle these changes responsibly, ethically, reasonably, and with maturity. No haste, no ignorance, and no idiocy allowed!

The Capricorn Full Moon occurs at 18 degrees 50 minutes of Capricorn. The aspects to this Full Moon are between 16 degrees 50 minutes and 20 degrees 50 minutes of:

  • Conjunction: Capricorn (amplifies)

  • Sextile: Scorpio & Pisces (beneficial with work)

  • Square: Aries & Libra (challenging)

  • Trine: Taurus & Virgo (beneficial & easy)

  • Opposition: Cancer (challenging)

Look for the house in your natal chart where 20 degrees 39 minutes Sagittarius falls, and the areas of life ruled by that house get this optimistic energy, and may need more space, for you to see the bright side, or for you to take a stand.

Also look for any bodies in your natal chart at these positions; these bodies get direct impact from the Full Moon. For those a little more advanced, also check your progressed chart, and if in a relationship, your composite chart.

2025 Capricorn Full Moon Horoscopes:

(note that you can read your Sun sign, which will use Solar Houses, but you may find your Rising sign to be more accurate, so check your Rising sign forecast if you know your Rising)

Aries: You can find yourself hitting your stride in some way with something you’ve been working on for some time and have done right by, Aries. This can be motivating to keep going, but do keep in mind with the retrogrades that momentum might get sapped down quickly. Don’t let that cause any despair though, and enjoy the time you have at the top, and make plans for when the cosmic energy cools down.

Taurus: There can be a stronger desire to get more freedom with this Full Moon, Taurus, and you may push to get it. Try to be smart about it instead of impulsive. Find space in your schedule, routine, regimen, and in the minutes of the day. This can be a better way to get the space you need without going overboard and putting yourself in a challenging position you can’t find a way out of later.

Gemini: Something serious can get your attention with the Capricorn Full Moon, Gemini, and you may need to be more serious and focused than usual to uncover the information you need and solve the problem. This can quietly empower you, and you can feel more confident in yourself as a result. Take any passionate energy you may have with this Full Moon and put it to use quickly with something you can make progress with before Mercury retrograde starts.

Cancer: Your relationships can be the priority with the Capricorn Full Moon, Cancer, and you might give more attention to others than to yourself. Someone in your life may need some help, and you can be more than willing to give it. You can be more comfortable with company, and want to improve your connections in any ways you can. This can make you feel closer and more committed.

Leo: There can be plenty for you to get done with the Capricorn Full Moon, Leo, and you can be extra productive. This helps you tackle tasks, chores, and projects that need to be finished fast, especially with the Mercury retrograde coming in your sign. Use this Full Moon period to set yourself up well so you’re not left scrambling trying to get a million things done and feeling overwhelmed, and can instead focus on taking a second chance.

Virgo: There can be joyful energy with this Full Moon for you, and you can make more time for fun, play, and to embrace love, Virgo. You might want to make progress with a creative project, and can quickly work to reach the end or hit a height with it. This can be smart to do ahead of the Mercury retrograde, since Mercury is your ruler and your energy might be zapped with this one, so make use of inspiration now while you have it.

Libra: Emotions can be extra strong with the Capricorn Full Moon, and you may need to take time to take care of yourself, Libra. Focus on your emotional needs, spend time with supportive people, and don’t push yourself too hard. This can help you feel more in control, more confident and secure, and emotionally stable. Strengthen yourself at your core, and this helps to maintain the stability.

Scorpio: Drill down on your ideas with this Full Moon, Scorpio, and finalize plans, sort through information, and make some decisions. The upcoming Mercury retrograde might have you questioning your direction, so try to get clear on that now with the Capricorn Full Moon. Talk things over, empty your head, and try to understand what you’ve been struggling to wrap your mind around.

Sagittarius: This Full Moon can slow things down for you, Sagittarius, and you can be more comfortable taking your time and not rushing for anyone or anything. It might be frustrating to some, but once you get moving, you can be truly dedicated. You just want to be certain first. It can also be a good period to reconnect with the moment and ground yourself, which helps with upcoming energy.

Capricorn: It’s time for your Full Moon, Capricorn, and this is usually the time of year for strong emotions, big culminations, and important developments. Pay attention to what passes, and learn what you can. Try to go easy on yourself, and make sure your needs are being tended to. With your ruler also turning retrograde, you may need to give yourself some more space and grace to get things done.

Aquarius: Energy might be completely lacking with the Capricorn Full Moon, and you could use extra rest to recharge, Aquarius. You’ve been in a powerful time with Pluto entering your sign, and now your ruler (Uranus) changing signs too. This is bound to be draining, so make sure you’re taking the time to respect your energy and replenish yourself. It’s okay to do that, and can help balance things out.

Pisces: Something might feel like it desperately needs to be changed with the Capricorn Full Moon, Pisces, and you may be quick to make that change happen, but you need to be smart about it. This is especially the case with your ruler (Neptune) turning retrograde and fogging up your judgment. Make sure you’re clear, focused, and prepared before you rush into change if you want it to last.
